Strong promises come with strong verbs, and Psalm 32:8 delivers both:
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my eye upon you.”
When I need wisdom, I want to know that my Counselor knows what he’s talking about.
When I’m looking for advice, I need assurance that I’m talking to Someone who has my best interests at heart.
When my thinking has gone off the rails, I want to be guided back into sound thinking by an Instructor who is well-grounded in truth.
Everyday, we are invited into the presence of God, and through knowledge of his Word, we become rich in biblical wisdom.
What’s one step you can take TODAY to move in that direction in your own following life?
Thankful for strong verbs and strong guidance,

I think the most important step that any of us can take is to be teachable…soft hearted.

What a great observation.
We will miss so much good if we refuse instruction, teaching, guidance.

Sometimes I like to underline verbs in a passage. These are indeed strong ones! God has given us so much in His Word: may we avail ourselves of it every day.

What glorious reassurance–and so appropriate for me right now. When we truly desire God’s guidance, He WILL instruct and teach and counsel–all while watching over (steering? correcting?) our progress. No need to doubt. Thank you very much, Michele!

I wish I had gotten a handle on this when I was a young woman making big decisions about my future. I really struggled to trust that God’s guidance would come to me AS I trusted and moved forward with the light I was given.
